My daughter, Lance Corporal Shamema Honzagool Sloan, is trained on the Harrier Aircraft

My daughter, Lance Corporal Shamema Honzagool Sloan, is trained on the Harrier Aircraft as an Aircraft Armaments Specialist. Although British made, it is used by the US Marines. The main feature is that it can take off straight up, like a helicopter. There have been some photos in the news showing the Harrier being loaded with bombs. I have not seen my daughter in any of them, although that is her job.

I think, but I am not sure, that my daughter works on a different model of the Harrier than the one in the picture.

Harrier GR7

Primary function: Close-air support attack jet

Armament: Capable of carrying 25mm cannon, unguided bombs, Paveway laser-guided bombs, Maverick air-ground missiles, Brimstone anti-armor missiles, Sidewinder or ASRAAM air-to-air missiles

Maximum speed: 661 mph (1,065 km/h)

Crew: One

Other: A fixed-wing aircraft that also can take off and land vertically, the British-designed Harrier is known as a "jump jet" and is also used by the U.S. Marine Corps.
