Coenradt Elmendorf was a trustee of the town of Kingston, president ofthe trustee board, magistrate, and president of the Court of Magistratesin 1737. He was a doctor of his community and Deacon of the ReformedDutch Church. He was also active in military affairs, receiving acommission as Captain of the Ulster Co. N.Y. Militia in 1700 from theEarl of Belmont. In 1738 he became Major of the Ulster County Militia.Because of this military service his name is on the honor roll of theSociety of Colonial Wars and on the honor roll of the Society of ColonialDames; consequently, his descendents are eligible for membership in thesesocieties. Janse), who was b. Aug. 15, 1721, and d. Aug. 15, 1794. Petrus Edmundus
served as town trustee, as magistrate, supervisor, sheriff and surrogatefor
several terms.

John Crooke spent his youth in New York city, and early in adulthoodmoved to Kingston, NY where he became a prominent part of Kingston'scivic history. He is elected in 1714 a trustee ofKingstonandrelected1715,1716,1722-23-27-28&29.
In the summer of 1716 he was appointed Corporation Clerk and served inthat office for 5 years. He became Supervisor in 1723 and during 1727 and29 was Speaker or Presiding Officer of the Trustees of Kingston. He wasalso President of the Kingston Court of Mafistrates during the years1727-29. He was summoned June 11, 1728 as one of the jurors to try a casebefore the Supreme Court of Kingston,and in 1727 was appointed Guardianof the children of Mattys Jansen, his wife's brother.

Catrina Janse.Catrina married John Crooke in 1710.

Dr. Hans Kierstede [Parents] was born in 1612 in Madgeburg, Prussian Saxony. He died on 1 Oct 1666 in New Amsterdam, NY. He married Sara Jans Roelofse on 26 Jun 1642 in Dutch Church of New Amsterdam, NY.

Dr. Hans Kierstede was the first surgeon at New Amsterdam and a native of
Magdeburg. He was also the distinguished founder of a family ofphysicians and apothecaries. The first recorded Coroner's inquest, May18, 1638, ever held in New York city was conducted by Master HansKierstede and his assistant, Master Gerrit Schutt on the body of GerritJansen, gunner at Fort Amsterdam, and found the latter had been stabbedto death on the fifth of May Ultimo.

His name is on the Honor Roll of the St. Nicholas Society and as surgeonof Colonial forces at Fort Orange, 1645, his name is on the Honor Roll ofthe Society of Colonial Wars; his descendents are consequently eligibleto membership in these societies.

Sara Jans Roelofse [Parents] was born on 3 Dec 1626 in Amsterdam, Holland. She died in 1693 in New York, N.Y.. She married Dr. Hans Kierstede on 26 Jun 1642 in Dutch Church of New Amsterdam, NY.

Sara was very proficient in the Indian language, and in 1664, acted asinterpreter in negotiating the treaty between Gov. Pieter Stuyvesant andthe Hudson River Indians. In appreciation of her service as interpreter,a patent was granted to her second husband, Cornelis Van Borsum, Oct. 14,1673 of a lot on Manhattan Island.

Albert Roosa [Parents] was born in 1621 in Herwynen,Gelderland, Holland. He died on 27 Feb 1677/1678 in Kingston, NY. He married Wyntje De Jonge(alias Allardts & Weilke De Jonge in 1460/1649.

His father's name was Hyman, at a period when surnames were scarcelyknown among the Dutch. He came fromaplace in the Province of Gelderland,Holland called Harynen. He arrived here in the ship, "Bonte Koe" (SpottedCow).

Wyntje De Jonge(alias Allardts & Weilke De Jonge [Parents].Wyntje married Albert Roosa in 1460/1649.
