She has a remarkable history. Her father, the King of Denmark, pledged a large sum of money as her dowry for her marriage to King James III of Scotland and gave two islands, the islands of Orkney and Shetland, Norwegian crown possessions, that were pledged as security until the dowry will be paid.
The dowry still has not been paid and the local populations from time to time ask that it be paid so that they will be reverted to Danish rule. Meanwhile, her children and their descendants have become the rulers of England.
