July 9, 2005 -- NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — Evangelist Billy Graham's daughter was arrested and charged with domestic abuse after witnesses told police she choked her husband in a parking lot, authorities said yesterday.
Virginia Graham Foreman, 59, spent a night in jail after the July 1 confrontation outside a shopping center when she physically abused her husband, Chad, in a parking lot of a Kmart.She was released on her own recognizance the following day.
Witness David Hill told police that he and his wife, Mary, saw Virginia Graham Foreman choke and push her husband.
Then she chased her hapless spouse.
"She was mean," Hill told the Orlando Sentinel.
"I guess she started pushing him and grabbed him around his throat."
Hill said cops had to chase Foreman in the parking lot to catch her.
Police decided that choking and pushing her husband was domestic violence, and Foreman was placed under arrest.
Billy Graham, 86, concluded a three-day revival meeting in New York City last month that he indicated could be his last.

Census. John and margaret were farmers and had ten children. The IGI record
indicates that he was born in Buck Valley, Fulton co., Pennsylvania but the
Lee Family History indicates birth was in Philadelphia. He died at the family
farm home three miles east of Lexington, Nebraska.
Note: In 1850 Fulton Co., PA was created from the eastern part of Bedford Co.The family moved from Buck Valley, Fulton, Pennsylvania to Plum Creek (renamed
Lexington), Dawson Co., Nebraska between 1877 and 1880. They were probably
homesteaders--could receive a quarter section (160 acres) of public land free.
Unfortunately, that area did not always receive enough rainfall for good crop
(grain) yields. The Union Pacific Railroad operated nearby and moved farm
products to eastern markets.John served in the Union Army in the Civil War, a member of Company 1, 3rd
Maryland Cavalry (info from his obituary.) He was about 16 when he enlisted.

Shirley Foreman Lee Bartley's records had Margaret's birthplace as Belgen,
Germany but no such place appears to exist in Germany. The Lee Family History
had the spelling as Belgium which is an obvious error. According to "Germans
to America" Vol. 9 page 268, the family was from Wurttemberg state in Germany
and there is a Town of Belgheim there. Investigation of that community's civil
and parish records (on LDS microfilms) may yield their earlier records and
those of ancestors.Note: in 1853 Germany did not exist as a nation state. It was in the 1870's
that Bismark "forged" the first modern Germany. At that time some of the
internal germanic states changed borders....Margaret had ten children.
She died at her farm home three miles east of Lexington, Nebraska.Family records have her birth 30 April 1853. However, Vol 9 of Germans to
America indicates that on arrival in America on June 7, 1855 she was 10 months
of age i.e., had been born in 1854. Further, the 1870 Census for Pennsylvania
indicates she then 16 years old.From the Census we extrapolate her birth date
to be 1854 which is the same as given in the "Germans to America" record.She was living in Lexington, Nebraska in 1928.
