In the matter of the
adoption of the child,
Patrick Scott Welch Janow, by
PHYLLIS DUNCAN JANOW and
LAWRENCE JANOW
On motion and it appearing to the Court that Lawrence Janow and Phyllis Duncan Janow, residents of Amherst County, Virginia, filed their petition herein for leave to adopt child known as Patrick Scott Welch Janow, an infant under the age of fourteen years, with the written consent of the natural father; that a copy of said Petition was forwarded to the Amherst County Department of Social Services for investigation and report; that the Amherst County Department of Social Services has duly made report as required by law and recommends final adoption order; that a copy of said report and recommendation by the Amherst County department of Social Services was forwarded to the Commissioner of Welfare; that the Commissioner of Public Welfare did on April 15, 1977, file the Commissioner's Appendage recommending final adoption order; that after due consideration of the Petition, the written consent filed therewith and especially the report and recommendation of the Amherst County Department of Social Services, as well as the Commissioner of Welfare, the Court is satisfied that all requirements of Title 63.1 Chapter 11 of the Code of Virginia and all acts ammendatory thereof have been complied with; that the Petitioners are financially able and morally fit to adequately maintain therefor and train the said child; that the child is suitable for adoption by the Petitioners; that the best interest of said child will be promoted by said adoption; and being satisfied that the best interest the child will be served thereby, the Court doth ADJUDGE, ORDER and DECREE:
That from this day, the child known as Patrick Scott Welch Janow shall be to all intents and purposes, the child of the Petitioners and shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges and subject to all of the obligations of child born in lawful wedlock and his name shall be changed to Patrick Scott Janow.
It is further ordered that the Clerk of this Court shall forward to the Commissioner of Public Welfare attested copy of this Order, and shall forthwith return to said Commissioner all reports made by him herein, which, he, the said Commissioner shall preserve in a separate file, hold, handle and control in all respects as required by law. This Order entered pursuant to Title 67.1-230, 224, 236 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. And this cause is ended
