Dr. Helen Marjorie Sloan holds newborn Jessica Sloan
In November, 1988, the Sloan family went to Greece for the World Chess Olympiad in Thessaloniki ( Salonika ). Jessica Sloan had just been born on September 14, 1988 in Oakland, California. Sam Sloan and Shanti Vithanage flew with Jessica from Oakland, California to Thessaloniki. Helen Marjorie Sloan and Shamema flew from Fujairah by was of Abu Dhabi United Arab Emitrates to join Sam, Shanti and Jessica. After the Chess Olympiad was over, we five flew to Athens, where this photo was taken. We then all flew back to the United Arab Emirates.
